Nice topic to tackle! So many entrepeneurs just cut and paste a G2M from another business plan, which in turn came from some lame powerpoint they found online. Getting this stuff right saves loads of time and money.

This is BS. Intel can't make faster chips, so they want to push the burden off onto developers. The problem is multicore programming is useless for 95% of programming problems.

Multicore CPUs could have been implemented at any time in the past. Why wasn't it? Because it's a stupid idea. If Intel can't make faster chips, the industry won't improve, period.

Larrabee failed. It was a stupid idea to begin with. Make faster chips because concurrency is BS and will never work, no matter how much you want it to.

"In October 2007, Google and IBM created a large-scale computer cluster of approximately 1600 processors to give the academic community access to otherwise prohibitively expensive resources."

The use "Clue" acronym - there might be some interesting apps there.

Oh, and check out Open Topography Portal http://www.opentopography.org/
